Hey there!

The answer is yes. I have a Google Chromebook and it works wonderfully. I have yet to find a single complications with using the Chromebook. In fact, I do believe the OS is recommended on the Penn Foster FAQ page.

I bought mine a bout a year and a half ago when I began the program, and as I said it has worked wonderfully.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you have a splendid day!

Hello there.

I suppose that you could call Student Care at 1-888-427-1000, but I am not sure they could help you, as I am not sure what the issue that you are experiencing is. That is what the Community is for.

If your problem is with a question in the exam you can contact your instructor. There is an instructor for every course.

For example if your question was about a Consumer Math test you could go to the Math: Consumer Math page. There you would find other students with questions and your instructor whom you could contact directly.

Here is how to find the specific page for the course you need help with:

  1. First select either the "College" "Career School" or "High School" option underneath the Academic Groups tab.
  2. You would then see that on the left-hand side there is a section labeled "Related Spaces"
  3. Then you would select the option "View 3 Sub Spaces" under the tab "High School: Math"
  4. Then you would select "Math: Consumer Math"
  5. After that it should bring you to the Consumer Math page and you would find your instructor.

Of course this method is the same for finding any Course page for any subject.

If your issue is technical then contacting Student Care may be a good option for you. Their hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 6:00pm.

Or of course if it more simple than that I can always help. Let me know.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you have a splendid day!

Hello, Alexandrea

Thank you for your reply.

No, you recreate the files given to you under the resources link. ( For example, the Lake Starlight campground cover letter, the Excel workbook showing the value of the seashells, etc.)  There are instructions under this link as to what you need to do.

If you have further questions, please call us at 1-888-427-1000, ext. 8706, or email us at edserv@pennfoster.edu .

Good luck with your studies.

You can retest one time on any multiple choice exam within 30 days of the original exam date.  The higher of the two grades is averaged into your overall lesson average.  You cannot retest after the 30 day limit.  If you do not retest within the 30 days, the original grade will be entered as your final grade on that exam.

Hello there!

You are right, as that is far longer than it should take for an new course to open up. Normally it would only take 24-48 hours for the next course to open up.

If I were you, I would contact Student CARE ASAP, so that you can get back to your studies and you don't fall too far behind. There are several different ways to contact them with your question/issue:

  • Students can email Student Services by using theirStudent Portal Loginand then using theContact Usbutton on theirStudent Homepage
  • Students can post questions to the Student CARE Forum
  • Students can call 1-888-427-1000

They are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm EST.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you have a splendid day!

Hi there taylorbrugaletta!

I have had the same issue and I was able to have more courses opened up so I could continue my studies and so that I didn't get too far behind in my waiting.

I usually get in contact with someone over the phone as I find this to be the most efficient route. However, many people may not have that luxury.

Fortunately, there are many ways to contact Student CARE:

  • Students can email Student Services by using theirStudent Portal Loginand then using theContact Usbutton on theirStudent Homepage
  • Students can post questions to the Student CARE Forum
  • Students can call 1-888-427-1000

They are available Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm EST.

I wish you the best of luck in your studies and I hope that you have a splendid day!

Hello there, Geozzle!

I have been in the program for about  year and a half now, so I have a bit of experience with successfully learning the lesson material.

  1. First, I find the courses page here on the community. Say I was starting Physical Science. I would find the page and follow it to familiarize myself with the questions other student have. Also, it is important to find this page because there can be important and helpful tips, links and messages from the instructor. To find a Courses page on the community:
    1. Under the tab "Academic Groups" choose either "College" "Career School" or "High School"
    2. Then on the left hand side there will be a section labeled "Related Spaces"
    3. Find the subject that you are looking for and then select the "View 3 Subspaces"  or "View -any number of- Spaces"
    4. There will be the specific subject that you were looking for, you then select it.
      1. It bring you to the page that you were looking for.
      2. In the top right hand corner there should be an option to "Follow" the group.
  2. The next thing that I do is check the top of the course box for the Resources (these will appear before the lessons them selves). They can include a "Video Introduction" tab, "Student Resource" tab, and "Meet your Instructor, Q and A, Tips and Tools for Success" tab, but these options may vary form course to course. I find it very important to utilize these tabs.
  3. When you begin a lesson make sure that you familiarize yourself with the "Table of Contents". This can be really helpful so that you know where you are in the textbook and where to look when you have a question.
  4. The next thing that I do is break down the major sections of the textbook (using the Table of Contents) into what I call "Assignments". This helps break up the work in way that makes the most sense to me.
  5. Complete all of the Self Checks! They are very helpful. I treat them like quizzes. I even score them. They are a great way to keep track of what you're actually learning from the lesson material.
  6. Take your time with each lesson and all of the course material. Don't rush. Take time to actually learn the material and understand it.
  7. Copy down/study the graphs/examples that you are given. There can be vital information to your lesson material hidden in the graphs and examples.
  8. Along with that, study the pictures and tables given in the lesson material, as well as their captions.
  9. Utilize the retake option for you Exams. Do not be afraid to retake an Exam if what you scored isn't up to your standards. There is no shame in trying to get the best score possible.

Aside from all of that I would say to actually take notes. I am not sure of your note taking style but I know that it really helps me to take notes. When I have a physical textbook I highlight, underline, and use post-it notes. When I have an eBook I take extensive notes and I sometimes make flash cards as well. It really helps to have the info on paper in front of me.

I am not sure what sort of answer that you were looking for, but I hope that these tips can help you in you studies.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you have a splendid day!

Hello All!!

I wanted to start the Bachelors for Business Management after the Diploma program for Medical Administrative Assistant.

How many credits from the diploma program are transferred to the bachelors program or would be best to maximize credit transfer into the associates program for Health Care Management?
