I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the correct section or not, hope I am. Anyways, I wanted to find out if there are any options for individuals who have difficulty hearing for webinars. I'm not going to say hard of hearing because my hearing loss is minimal (I do have a hearing aid and it helps some) compared to others. While I have some very minor hearing loss for some mid-range frequencies I also have a learning disability that sometimes makes it difficult to understand words (along with other various learning disabilities). I don't know what it is called and unfortunately all my tests were destroyed by the county since they are so old, I was told that my brain does not process what I am hearing correctly and when I was a kid I was sent to a school with a program for deaf students to learn how to talk when I was 4 and after about a year was moved to a regular school with intense speech therapy. I was doing pretty good compensating for years but the past 2 years or so I haven't been compensating as well and am not sure why (already saw an ENT/audiologist which is why I now have the hearing aid for one side). So, any recommendations on what could be done so that I can understand what is being said during webinars better? Is there a way to record them so I can listen to them until I can figure out what is being said? I can hear them no problem but have to really concentrate to understand what is being said then miss what is "currently" being said because I was trying to decipher what was just said and usually end up missing the majority of the webinar (not to mention the wonderful headache it gives me). I have the same problem on the phone so calling in for the audio wouldn't be much help either. I'm only in my first semester and know there will be more webinars to attend as I progress in my courses.
