Those dates on your course are simply "suggestions." It's just a study
planner to help you stay on track. You can complete all your individual
lessons for each course, write your papers, etc whenever you want since PF
is self-paced. You can always tweak the dates as you see fit. So if you
don't feel particularly ready to submit a paper by the date listed, don't
worry about it. Take the extra time that you need.
On your MyCourses page, you will have "exam," listed for all lessons;
however, only the ones that specifically say "proctored" are the ones that
are like your typical final exam at traditional college. All the others are
usually short, multiple choice quizzes, projects, or papers that you need
to submit as you progress through the class.
If any of them say "proctored" then the first thing you want to do is find
someone who can proctor the exam for you. It can be anyone that has a
college degree (major doesn't matter) so long as the person doesn't live
with you and is not a relative. So if someone at work has a degree, that
person can do it, but it does have to be in a public building (not
someone's home). Or if you know a teacher, you can ask that person. If all
else fails, you can check with your local library or go to your local
college. All these colleges have testing centers, so you can just go there,
explain the situation, and ask.
